Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why did PCGS (Patriot Card Grading Services) change its name to FCGS (Freedom Card Grading Services)?

A: In early 2022 we received a cease-and-desist letter from Collector’s Universe (PSA) stating it would create confusion to have the same letters in the logo as their PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) coin grading division. Apparently, the price-gouger doesn’t trust their customers’ intelligence as to discern the difference between a coin and a card. Nevertheless, we accommodated their pathetic attempt to shut down a disabled veteran’s business. See below for a fun read.

Q: Why won’t Ebay honor their authenticity “guarantee” for graded FCGS cards that sell for $250 or more? Why do I receive a notification stating FCGS “miscategorized the item during the listing process”?

A: The truth? Because they’re lying to you. As shown below from an actual Ebay customer service chat, Ebay confirmed that the reason this happens is because Ebay’s authenticator (PSA) refuses to authenticate our graded cards. Instead of being honest with us and the customer, they tell you it’s because we “miscategorized the item during the listing process” which is an outright LIE. Why? Who knows, we’ve yet to receive a response from Ebay’s fantastical “back-room team” concerning this highly unethical business practice. Even if we were the worst grader on the planet there’s no reason why these cards can’t be authenticated. Other lesser-known grading companies have been affected by this as well, which begs the question: What’s the point of Ebay’s Authenticity Program if PSA will only authenticate the most familiar sheep brands? Sounds like Ebay wasted a lot of money on a useless contract with Collector’s Universe, which only serves to delay shipments to its customers. See below for our chat with Ebay:

Garbage scam “grader” tries to shut us down

Another pathetic and disgraceful attempt was made to shut down our disabled veteran-owned business. It’s become a periodic hobby apparently for desperate businesses to try to eliminate us from this competitive market. This time it was Forensic Card Grading (FCG). Based on outright lies and misinformation, they demanded we shut down our website because we’re “FCGS”, which is close to “FCG” but is not the same and has a different meaning. We have an approved trademark, but the owner seemed to struggle with comprehending rudimentary trademark laws. See Stroud picture where they somehow missed the obvious defect using supposed AI and “reverse engineering”. Instead of receiving formal communication from a lawyer the owner, Matt Schwartz, e-mailed us from his loan shark e-mail “matt@southlakeloans.com”. See below e-mail snapshot.
